Jax Soccer News was born from a simple belief: the soccer lived in Jacksonville also deserves to be covered with seriousness, closeness, passion and, especially, in Spanish.
Our story
My name is Oliver González León. I am a journalist graduated from Universidad Bicentenaria in Venezuela, a photographer and a content creator. For years, I have worked telling stories and using multimedia tools to inform. Journalism has been part of my journey, not only as a profession, but as a way of understanding what happens around me.
After arriving in the United States and starting a new chapter in Jacksonville, I gradually encountered clubs, academies, tournaments, ventures and a Hispanic community that experiences this sport intensely, even when it lives in the shadow of American football and the Jaguars.
With Jax United FC joining UPSL Division 1 and professional soccer returning to Jacksonville through Sporting JAX in the USL Championship, I saw a space with the potential to grow in coverage and identity. That is where Jax Soccer News began.
Our mission
This project aims to cover soccer in Jacksonville and the surrounding area, give visibility to players, coaches, teams and tournaments, and build a bridge between the Hispanic community and the growth of soccer in the city.
It is not only about publishing results: we want to tell stories, follow journeys, highlight talent and document how soccer continues to make its place in Northeast Florida.
An informative, visual and authentic space for those who love soccer and want to follow its development in Jacksonville.
