We have spent a great deal of time over the last year working on what we believe could be an incredibly exciting future for professional football in Jacksonville. Our love for this city, for its people and for its soccer community was what drove us to look for an opportunity to take the Jacksonville Armada to a new stage.
All the necessary pieces were brought together to make this project a reality, as we have an investment group made up of some of the best community leaders and partners. That's why the current situation is so incredibly painful.
Jacksonville deserves professional football. This is a city with a passionate and growing soccer community, a tremendous history with Armada, and the potential to support a club at the highest level of the sport in the country.
We believe deeply in that potential, and we would not have invested our time, energy and resources in this process if we did not believe that Armada can once again become an important part of Jacksonville's future.
Unfortunately, there are forces and interests outside of our control that have determined the point at which This process is currently underway.
While we cannot control every decision that is being made regarding the future of the club, we can control our level of commitment to Jacksonville, and that commitment has not changed.
We believe that fans deserve transparency about what is happening with their club and why.
We also believe that this city deserves every opportunity to continue being a part of the future of professional soccer, rather than having that future determined by circumstances that are beyond its control. control.
We will suspend operations of our investment group on September 4 if we are unable to obtain approval of our transaction or make significant progress towards such approval.
That said, we remain ready, willing and committed to do whatever is necessary to advance Jacksonville Armada FC and give Jacksonville the professional soccer team it deserves.
We hope that those who have the ability to influence what happens next recognize what is at stake: not just for a investor group or for an organization, but for an entire city and for the fans who have spent years believing that Jacksonville can be a football city.
